PEI Farmers Since 2007

Brothers Ryan and Steven Hamill assumed management of their family farm in 2007, officially founding Hamill Brothers Farm. Today, the operation focuses on a sustainable three-year cash crop rotation and provides a full suite of custom farming services, with a strong commitment to soil health and environmental stewardship. 

Ryan Hamill graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in 2002 with a business diploma. He spent several years working in the oil and gas sector before returning to agriculture. Ryan and his wife, Julie, have three children: Sullivan, Shea, and Scotlyn.

Steven Hamill earned a degree in agriculture mechanization from from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in 2007. He went on to spend 16 years with the PEI Department of Agriculture, holding a variety of roles. Steven and his wife, Marsha, have two children: Jack and Lincoln.

In 2019, Ryan established a Pioneer seed agency serving Charlottetown - West region. That same year, Andrew VanWiechen launched a Pioneer agency covering the Charlottetown - East. The two agencies joined in 2024 to form Hamill Brothers Agri Services, marking Steven's official entry into the business. Today, the company proudly serves growers across all of Prince Edwards Island, providing high-quality Pioneer seed and agronomic support rooted in generations of farming experience.
